built of stone.
neither hammer.
It was the work of God; everything was prepared beforehand. The stones that made up the house had the same character as the foundation stones, also precious and prepared beforehand (1 Kings 7:9-12). It is the same with the assembly (1 Pet. 2:4-5) insofar as its being built up is not entrusted to man’s responsibility (1 Cor. 3:10-15). (The Temple: 1 Kings 6 by H.L. Rossier)

J. N. Darby Translation
