Ministry on This Verse

Here the blessing to the Gentiles is expressly mentioned, so that it seems more akin to James's use of Amos 9:11-12, in Acts 15. And this is confirmed, it would appear, by the fact that the Apostle breaks forth into a strong expression of the grace God is now showing, surpassing as it does the actual fulfillment in the days of the kingdom. (Notes on 2 Corinthians 6:1-3 by W. Kelly)
"Behold now a right acceptable season, behold now a day of salvation:" words suggested by the prophecy, but designedly rising above them in strength as expressive of God's present display of grace in the gospel. (Notes on 2 Corinthians 6:1-3 by W. Kelly)
On the ground of all that Christ is, and has done, the grace of God is preached to the Gentiles during the time that Christ is the accepted Man in the glory, and believers accepted in Him, thus bringing in the day when salvation is proclaimed to sinners. (2 Corinthians 6 by H. Smith)
Paul quotes Isaiah 49:8 to show that the time to be busy in the work of the Lord is in "the day of salvation." (The Christian Minister Tested and Approved of God: 2 Corinthians 6:1-10 by B. Anstey)
