My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. … Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?1

Toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be. And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat.1

Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?1

Jesus, … saw two brethren, … casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow me.2 – Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.3

My speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.4

Who in the days of his flesh … offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death.1

Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord.2 – Continuing instant in prayer.3 – Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication.4 – By prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.5

Nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.6 – This is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us.7

When ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.1

They … called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us.2

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. … And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.1

Let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.2 – Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace.3

Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.4 – A man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ.5 – By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight.6

By him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.7

The Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.1

He … kneeled down, and prayed, … And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.2

It was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: … they took Jesus, and led him away; … into a place called … Golgotha: where they crucified him.3

Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the feast.4
