I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee.1 – I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love.2 – I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.3 – Behold the Lamb of God!4 – As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.5
Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.6 – We love him, because he first loved us.7
My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; the fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.8

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.1 – Ask what I shall give thee. And Solomon said unto God, … Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people.2 – And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.3
Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power. … O Lord, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee. So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa.4
O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.5

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.1 – Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.2
He that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.3 – Christ … suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps.4
Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.5
I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.6

I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.1
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.2 – Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God.3 – I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.4
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.5 – He restoreth my soul.6 – O Lord, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.7
Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe.8
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.9

The Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.1
The city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.2 – They need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light.3
Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.4 – Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.5 – Ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.6
We are not of the night, nor of darkness.7
The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.8

There is none righteous, no, not one: … there is none that doeth good, no, not one.1 – There is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.2 – How can he be clean that is born of a woman?3
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.4
I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. … Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.5
The Lord … hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.6 – Whom he justified, them he also glorified.7 – We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.8 – If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel.9 – Walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.10

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.1 – Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.2
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.3
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.4 – Having … boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; and having an high priest over the house of God; let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith.5
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord.6 – All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.7

I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.1 – Whosoever … will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.2 – Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.3
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. … The servant is not greater than his lord.4 – I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.5

He brought me up … out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.1 – The Son of God, … loved me, and gave himself for me.2 – He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?3 – God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.4
Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.5 – Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.6
God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.7

I beseech thee, show me thy glory. … And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.1 – No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.2
Every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.3 – I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh.4
I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God.5 – I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.6 – We shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.7 – The Lord himself shall descend from heaven … the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.8
