There be many that say, Who will show us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.1

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God.2 – O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.3

I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. The iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.1 – Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger forever, because he delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.2

He hath made us accepted in the beloved.3 – To present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight.4

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.5

There failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.1 – God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?2

The Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him.3 – He will ever be mindful of his covenant.4

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands.5

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.6

There is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.1 – The Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.2 – Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.3

When ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants.4

Ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.5

In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let you requests be made known unto God.6 – The prayer of the upright is his delight.7

If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?1 – They provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.2

Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.3

A whisperer separateth chief friends.4 – There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health. The sting of death is sin.1 – But now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.2

As the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.3

I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness.4

Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.1

Thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon: … and thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee. And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: … and when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the Lord throughout your generations.1

[Jesus] is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.2 – The smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.3

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.4

If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.1 – O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.2

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.1
