He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. … And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last.1
Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?2
To him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.3 – If our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.4
All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. … Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.5
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.6

Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.1
The grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. … The free gift is of many offences unto justification.2
God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.3
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?4

This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, … and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.1 – An everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure.2 – That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.3
We declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers, God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again.4
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.5

Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.1
Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.2 – Seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.3
Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.4 – Now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. … For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.5
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.6
Lo, I am with you alway.7 – I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.8 – I will pray the Father and he shall give you another Comforter … he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.9

I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.1 – O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.2 – It is the Lord: let him do what seemeth him good.3
Righteous art thou, O Lord, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments.4
He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.5 – Whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.6 – It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord.7 – Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.8
Rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.9 – These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.10

From the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?1 – The Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.2
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.3 – Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.4 – Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us.5
God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.6 – That he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.7

There arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow.1
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.2
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.3 – He giveth his beloved sleep.4
They stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.5 – Absent from the body, … present with the Lord.6

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.1
That which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be.2
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. … Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.3

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin.1
They … lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.2
Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost … was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.3
In that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.4 – Simon, Simon, … Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not.5

Ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and … unto his family.1
Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.2
The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.3
I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction.4
Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is his name.5
