The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?1

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.2 – He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.3

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.4 – In the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.5

The God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion forever and ever.6

This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.1 – Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.2

O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.1 – Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart.2 – I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.3 – I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.4

Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.1 – The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it withersoever he will.2 – When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.3

Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you.1 – The life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls.2 – It is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.3

In the Lord have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; the God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my savior.1 – The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.2

It pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
