Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.1 – Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.2
Being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.3 – Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.4 – For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.5 – The cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?6
The Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.7 – My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.8 – Mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth.9

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.1 – Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the Lord cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity.2 – In the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.3 – Your life is hid with Christ in God.4
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.5
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.6

A just God and a Savior.1
The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honorable.2
God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them.3 – Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.4 – He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.5 – Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.6 – To him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.7

O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.1 – No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.2
I would have you without carefulness.3 – Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.4
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. … The very hairs of your head are numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.5 – Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?6 – Have faith in God.7

In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.1 – Whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.2
Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.3 – Be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.4
Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.5 – Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us.6 – Shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.7

I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.1 – Ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.2
Ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.3
Ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.4 – Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity.5 – Be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.6
Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.7 – Whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.8 – Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.9

Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.1 – Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.2 – My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.3
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.4 – Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.5
Behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?6 – Thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.7 – Ye are the temple of the living God.8

To be spiritually minded is life and peace.1
God hath called us to peace.2 – Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.3 – The God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.4
I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.5 – Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.6
The work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever. And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.7 – Whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.8
Great peace have they which love thy law.9

The God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.1
Hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.2 – If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.3 – Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.4 – Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.5

Thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. … Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.1
I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. … It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. … Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.2 – The Lord hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.3 – He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. … He knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.4
