Whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favor of the Lord.1
Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, … but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord.2 – The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.3
What things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.4 – In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.5 – Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.6
Christ Jesus, … is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.7
He that winneth souls is wise.8

I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious.1 – He is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.2 – Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.3 – Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.4
By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.5 – Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.6 – Unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.7 – As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.8 – He giveth more grace.9
Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever.10

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures.1 – It is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.2 – I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.3 – We have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.4 – How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand.5 – O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? … For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.6

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.1 – He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.2 – Thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. For I will not contend forever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.3
I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick.4 – Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; … lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.5 – Behold, your God … will come and save you.6

The Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.1 – The Lord will show who are his, and who is holy.2 – Thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.3
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.4 – There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear.5
Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.6 – When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path.7 – He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.8
The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, the Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.9

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.1 – My brethren, ye … are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.2 – Being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ.3 – The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.4
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.5 – Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.6 – If the Son … shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.7
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.8

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.1 – Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.2 – As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you.3 – Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.4
Thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.5
Another Comforter … even the Spirit of truth.6 – The Spirit … helpeth our infirmities.7
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.8

My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.1 – O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; to see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.2
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.3 – The Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.4 – Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.5 – My blood is drink indeed.6
Eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.7

I am the Lord that healeth thee.1
O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.2 – Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.3 – All things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.4
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.5 – He is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.6 – He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.7 – He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted.8 – Thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.9

Know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.2
What fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?3 – Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. … The world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.4
In time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience.5 – Ye have not so learned Christ; if so be that ye have heard him, … as the truth is in Jesus.6
