I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.1 – The Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom.2 – We are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.3 – Your life is hid with Christ in God.4
Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?5
Our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.6

He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?1 – Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.2 – To love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.3
Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.4 – Mary … sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. … One thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.5
It is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.6

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.1
Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.2 – Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.3 – Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.4 – Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another.5 – Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.6
We … that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.7

The Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.1 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.2 – As by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.3
After that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.4 – There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.5
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.6

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.1 – A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.2 – No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.3 – And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me forever.4
Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.5
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.6
Lord, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.7

Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.1 – We suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.2
He knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.3
Thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. … Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee. Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.4

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.1 – Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.2 – The only wise God.3 – Be not wise in thine own eyes.4
Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.5
Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.6 – All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.7

Is anything too hard for the Lord?1 – Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.2 – Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.3 – Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.4
Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed unto the Lord.5
It shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.6 – The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.7
I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.8

God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power.1 – It pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell.2 – Of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.3
Thou anointest my head with oil.4 – The anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.5
The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.6
The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.7

Forasmuch … as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same.1 – The man that is my fellow, saith the Lord of hosts.2 – I and my Father are one.3
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.4 – There shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.5 – The Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.6
When my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.7 – Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble.8 – Thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.9
