Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high, who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!1 – Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.2 – I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. … Hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. Cause me to hear thy loving-kindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.3
Because thy loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.4 – Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.5
Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do.6

He is the head of the body, the church.1 – The head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.2 – We are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.3
A body hast thou prepared me.4 – Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.5
Thine they were, and thou gavest them me.6 – He hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world.7 – Whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son.8
Grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, … maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.9

Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted.1 – Be still, and know that I am God.2 – Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?3 – The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.4
Mary … sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. … Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.5 – In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.6 – Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still.7
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.8
He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart is established.9
He that believeth shall not make haste.10

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil.1 – Abhor that which is evil.2 – Abstain from all appearance of evil.3 – Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.4
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.5
Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.6 – Let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.7
Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.8 – Such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners.9 – In him is no sin.10

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? … He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength1 – Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.2 – Thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.3
The trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.4 – Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.5

The meek … shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.1 – Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of Heaven.2 – The ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, … is in the sight of God of great price.3 – Charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up.4
Follow after … meekness.5 – Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart.6 – He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.7 – Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; … but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously.8

Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.1 – I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.2 – I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.3
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.4 – Not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.5 – And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.6

It shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.1
We have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.2
Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.3 – For through him we … have access by one Spirit unto the Father.4 – We have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.5 – Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.6

[Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.1 – The children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the Lord God of their fathers.2
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.3 – It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.4 – The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.5
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.6

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.1 – Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.2
Having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly.3 – That through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.4 – In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.5 – Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. … And take … the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.6 – Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.7
