1. One of the two wives of Lamech, and the mother of Jabal and Jubal (Gen. 4:19-20, 23¹⁹And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. ²⁰And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. (Genesis 4:19‑20)
²³And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. (Genesis 4:23)).

2. One of the wives of Esau, daughter of Elon the Hittite, and thus a daughter of Canaan: she bare to Esau his first-born son Eliphaz, who became the father of seven of the dukes of Edom (Gen. 36:2, 4, 15-16²Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite; (Genesis 36:2)
⁴And Adah bare to Esau Eliphaz; and Bashemath bare Reuel; (Genesis 36:4)
¹⁵These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz, ¹⁶Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah.
