1. The governor of Samaria in the time of Ahab (1 Kings 22:26; 2 Chron. 18:25).
2. Son and successor of Manasseh, king of Judah. He reigned but 2 years (B.C. 643-2). He did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the idols which his father had set up. His servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house ({vi 10138-10145}2 Kings 21:18-25; 1 Chron. 3:14; {vi 11929-11934}2 Chron. 33:20-25; Jer. 1:2; Jer. 25:3; Zeph. 1:1; Matt. 1:10).
