Much in the tabernacle was to be made of beaten work (Ex. 25:18,31,36¹⁸And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat. (Exodus 25:18)
³¹And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same. (Exodus 25:31)
³⁶Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold. (Exodus 25:36)), in contrast to “molten,” as idols were often made. The cherubim and the mercy-seat were to be beaten out of one piece, (Ex. 37:7⁷And he made two cherubims of gold, beaten out of one piece made he them, on the two ends of the mercy seat; (Exodus 37:7)): the candlestick also was beaten work of pure gold (Ex. 37:17,22¹⁷And he made the candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work made he the candlestick; his shaft, and his branch, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, were of the same: (Exodus 37:17)
²²Their knops and their branches were of the same: all of it was one beaten work of pure gold. (Exodus 37:22)).
