1. As the insignia of office; Joseph and Daniel were invested with gold chains (Gen. 41:42⁴²And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; (Genesis 41:42); Dan. 5:7⁷The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers.
