A characteristic of man as made out of the earth, of dust (1 Cor. 15:47-4947The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. (1 Corinthians 15:47‑49)). “The first man is of the earth, earthy,” in contrast to “the second man, out of heaven.” A man cannot rise morally above the earth except by the power of God in new creation.
