Anything twisted or woven. It refers to the “grating” made of brass that formed part of the brazen altar (Ex. 27:4⁴And thou shalt make for it a grate of network of brass; and upon the net shalt thou make four brazen rings in the four corners thereof. (Exodus 27:4); Ex. 35:16¹⁶The altar of burnt offering, with his brazen grate, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot, (Exodus 35:16); Ex. 38:4-5,30⁴And he made for the altar a brazen grate of network under the compass thereof beneath unto the midst of it. ⁵And he cast four rings for the four ends of the grate of brass, to be places for the staves. (Exodus 38:4‑5)
³⁰And therewith he made the sockets to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the brazen altar, and the brazen grate for it, and all the vessels of the altar, (Exodus 38:30); Ex. 39:39³⁹The brazen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot, (Exodus 39:39)).
