(dark hill). A hill in Ziph (1 Sam. 23:19¹⁹Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon? (1 Samuel 23:19)).

Hill near Ziph in Judah, described as being “before” or “on the south of” Jeshimon. David resorted there when pursued by Saul, and there David spared Saul when he was in his power (1 Sam. 23:19¹⁹Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon? (1 Samuel 23:19); 1 Sam. 26:1, 3¹And the Ziphites came unto Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself in the hill of Hachilah, which is before Jeshimon? (1 Samuel 26:1)
