Those who dwell in a house under one head, including the wife and children, and embracing servants who were usually slaves (Gen. 15:2-32And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? 3And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. (Genesis 15:2‑3); Luke 12:4242And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? The Lord speaks of His disciples as His household (Matt. 10:2525It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? (Matthew 10:25)); and saints are called the “household of faith,” and the “household of God” (Gal. 6:1010As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
