(leaving). Son of Abraham, and father of northern Arabians (Gen. 25:2²And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. (Genesis 25:2); 1 Chron. 1:32³²Now the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan; Sheba, and Dedan. (1 Chronicles 1:32)).

(1 Chronicles 1:32)). An Assyrian inscription mentions “Bur-anate of the land of Iasbuk” (Ia-as-bu-qa-ai) which is judged to refer to the above, situated on the west bank of the Euphrates.
