Lev. 26:40‑45• 40And they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, through their unfaithfullness wherein they were unfaithful to me, and also that they have walked contrary to me,
41so [that] I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies. If then their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity,
42I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
43For the land shall be left by them, and shall enjoy its Sabbaths, when it is in desolation without them; and they shall accept the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because, they despised my judgments, and their soul despised my statutes.
44And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not despise them, and will not abhor them, to make an end of them utterly, and to break my covenant with them, for I [am] Jehovah their God.
45But I will remember toward them the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations, that I might be their God: I [am] Jehovah. (Lev. 26:40‑45)
Deut. 4:29‑31• 29{i}And from thence ye shall seek Jehovah thy God, and thou shalt find him, if thou shalt seek him with thy whole heart and with thy whole soul.{/i}
30{i}In thy tribulation, and when all these things shall come upon thee, at the end of days, thou shalt return to Jehovah thy God, and shalt hearken to his voice,{/i}
31{i}—for Jehovah thy God is a merciful God, —he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he swore unto them.{/i} (Deut. 4:29‑31)
Deut. 30:1‑20• 1{i}And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt take them to heart among all the nations whither Jehovah thy God hath driven thee,{/i}
2{i}and shalt return to Jehovah thy God, and shalt hearken to his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy sons, with all thy heart and with all thy soul;{/i}
3{i}that then Jehovah thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will gather thee again from all the peoples whither Jehovah thy God hath scattered thee.{/i}
4{i}Though there were of you driven out unto the end of the heavens, from thence will Jehovah thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee;{/i}
5{i}and Jehovah thy God will bring thee into the land that thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.{/i}
6{i}And Jehovah thy God will circumcise thy heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.{/i}
7{i}And Jehovah thy God will put all these curses on thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, who have persecuted thee.{/i}
8{i}But{/i} thou shalt return and obey the voice of Jehovah, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.
9And Jehovah thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, {i}in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, for good; for Jehovah will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers;{/i}
10if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Jehovah thy God to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto Jehovah thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
11For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
12It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
13{i}And it is not beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, that we should hear it and do it?{/i}
14{i}For the word is very near to thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.{/i}
15{i}See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil,{/i}
16{i}in that I command thee this day to love Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, that thou mayest live and multiply, and that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.{/i}
17{i}But if thy heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and thou shalt bow down to other gods and serve them;{/i}
18{i}I denounce unto you this day that ye shall surely perish; ye shall not prolong your days upon the land whereunto thou passest over the Jordan to possess it.{/i}
19{i}I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you: life and death have I set before you, blessing and cursing: choose then life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed,{/i}
20{i}in loving Jehovah thy God, in hearkening to his voice, and in cleaving to him—for this is thy life and the length of thy days—that thou mayest dwell in the land which Jehovah swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.{/i} (Deut. 30:1‑20)
1 Kings 8:47‑50• 47{i}and if they shall take it to heart in the land whither they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captive, saying, We have sinned, and have done iniquity, we have dealt perversely;{/i}
48{i}and if they return unto thee with all their heart and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city that thou hast chosen, and the house that I have built unto thy name;{/i}
49{i}then hear thou in the heavens, the settled place of thy dwelling, their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their right;{/i}
50{i}and forgive thy people their sin against thee, and all their transgressions whereby they have transgressed against thee, and give them to find compassion with those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them{/i} (1 Kings 8:47‑50)
2 Chron. 6:37‑39• 37{i}and if they shall take it to heart in the land whither they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done iniquity and have dealt perversely;{/i}
38{i}and if they return unto thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land which thou gavest unto their fathers, and the city that thou hast chosen, and the house that I have built unto thy name;{/i}
39{i}then hear thou from the heavens, from the settled place of thy dwelling, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their right, and forgive thy people their sin against thee.{/i} (2 Chron. 6:37‑39)
Zeph. 2:1‑3• 1Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;
2before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of Jehovah come upon you before the day of Jehovah’s anger come upon you.
3Seek ye Jehovah, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of Jehovah’s anger. (Zeph. 2:1‑3)
