Jerusalem

The metropolis of the Jews, now no longer an earthly center, but after the departure of all believers destined again to rise in importance, and at the return of the Lord to the Mount of Olives to be (after judgment of His enemies) restored to far more than its former splendor. A full description of its future glory will be found in Ezekiel. It will then be the metropolis of the whole earth; and will be governed by a prince of the house of Judah, the representative on earth of the King of the Jews. It is evident this ruler is not Christ in person, for he will have to offer a sin-offering for himself (Ezek. 45:22²²And upon that day shall the prince prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bullock for a sin offering. (Ezekiel 45:22)). In Isa. 62, we find that the land of Judah and city of Jerusalem will be “married” to Jehovah.
