Then Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish’s belly,
For thou didst cast me into the depth,{HR}Into the heart of the seas,{HR}And the flood was round about me:{HR}All thy breakers and thy billows are gone over me.{HR}
And I said, I am cast out from before thine eyes,{HR}Yet will I look again toward thy holy temple.{HR}
The waters encompassed me, to the soul:{HR}The deep was round about me,{HR}The weeds were wrapped about my head.{HR}
I went down to the bottoms of the mountains;{HR}The bars of the earth closed upon me forever:{HR}But thou hast brought up my life from the pit,{HR}O Jehovah my God.{HR}
When my soul fainted within me,{HR}I remembered Jehovah;{HR}And my prayer came in unto thee,{HR}Into thy holy temple.{HR}
They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.{HR}
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving;{HR}I will pay that which I have vowed.{HR}Salvation is of Jehovah.
And Jehovah commanded the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
