These mockers once looked fair. They once spoke fairly. They were received, they were baptized; they remembered the Lord Jesus, taking part in the assembly, no doubt. They may have been preachers, very likely; but here it was evident they were given up to their own lusts of ungodliness and they were mockers; accordingly, they therefore turned with the greatest spite and hatred upon that truth that once separated them from the world. (Lectures on Jude 16-19 by W. Kelly)
They would be "mockers" or "scoffers;" men utterly without reverence, and able to make sport of holy things, and led only by their own ungodly lusts. (article #86573)

There is a question of text and of translation here. T. R., in accordance with the majority, reads, "in the last time." But the ancient copies give, "at the end of the time," with the article "the" included; others omit it, which the Revisers follow. Compared with other varieties of the phrase, it would seem to mean "at the end of the time."
