(drawn out). (1) Son of Japheth (Gen. 10:2²The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. (Genesis 10:2); Ezek. 27:13; 32:26¹³Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market. (Ezekiel 27:13)

“Mesech” From Concise Bible Dictionary:

Place mentioned in connection with Kedar; probably connected with Gog. The Psalmist was dwelling among quite strange nations (Psa. 120:5⁵Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar! (Psalm 120:5)). The Hebrew is the same as MESHECH: see No. 1.
