(child of God). (1) A Judahite. One of six son’s of Shemaiah (1 Chron. 3:22-23²²And the sons of Shechaniah; Shemaiah: and the sons of Shemaiah; Hattush, and Igeal, and Bariah, and Neariah, and Shaphat, six. ²³And the sons of Neariah; Elioenai, and Hezekiah, and Azrikam, three. (1 Chronicles 3:22‑23)). (2) A chief of Simeon, son of Ishi (1 Chron. 4:42⁴²And some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
