• “Every one over against his house” (Neh. 3:28). While executing their priestly office in their service for the Lord, they did not neglect their homes. Sadly, there are multiple instances in Scripture of faithful men whose homes were not as they ought to have been before God: Eli (also a priest), Samuel, and David, are examples of this (1 Sam. 1:22-25; 8:3; 2 Sam. 23:5).
