PETER and Puff came to live at Bobby's house, and Bobby thought they were just wonderful. He liked the funny sounds they made, and he loved to watch them drink milk with their tongues and wash behind their ears.. Best of all, he liked to squeeze them, but Peter and Puff were a little too quick for him, and had a funny way of peeking around corners when he tried to catch them.,
Mother said they were a nuisance, and no doubt she was right. Mother had filled her sewing basket with all sorts of things to help keep Sonny's clothes in order, but when she came to use it, it was just full of two little bright-eyed kittens. This was more than enough. Under Mother's hand, they were not long learning that a sewing basket is forbidden fun.
But with Bobby, it was different. When he helped himself to the things in Mother's sewing basket, she had more to say to him. She knew that kittens, after all, are just kittens, but Bobby was a. responsible creature, and he must come before God someday. When she told him that her sewing basket was not to he played with, she also taught him Ephesians 6:11Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. (Ephesians 6:1) until he could say it by heart, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right." Even a little boy can learn obedience to please the Lord.
You see, God made the animals "without reason," but He gave you and me intelligence, and we are responsible to Him. When an animal dies that is the end of it, but death is not the end for you and me. Boys and girls, each one of you has a soul, and you must meet God someday. What a terrible thing it would be to meet God in your sins and be banished from His presence forever. Just to disobey your parents is a sin and it would only take one such sin to shut you out from the presence of God for all eternity.
But we have good news for you! God loves you, and He has provided a remedy. His own Son died on Calvary, shedding His precious blood to put away all your sins. If you come to Him now, you can be made white and clean, and be sure of being in heaven with Jesus where the song will he,
