And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.
Joseph was in a foreign land, a slave to a high official, with no friends and no family. But he had one friend that was right there beside him in his new situation - the Lord Himself. And even though Joseph was a slave, yet we read that he was prosperous. The Lord was encouraging Joseph even though everything that Joseph had ever known had been taken away from him. You see, Joseph’s faith never failed! He trusted God for everything and took his circumstances from the Lord. What a great lesson for us!
