The MSS. are in strange confusion as to this verse. The common reading seems to give the sense; and the margin of the RV expresses it better perhaps than the text. There is a repetition of "into captivity" in some of the principal MSS. But these words might have been as readily omitted as added. If the allusive contrast is with {vi 19318}{/vi}, it tends to confirm the repeated form. The sense is the same either way, whether expressed or implied.
