The Hebrew word
sabka
is judged to refer to a stringed musical instrument—not a wind instrument, as the name sackbut implies ({vi 21813-21823}Dan. 3:5-15). It was probably the same as the
sambuca
of the Greeks and Romans. This was a triangular harp.
