(plain of Kiriathaim). Spot where the Emims dwelt when smitten by Chedorlaomer (Gen. 14:5⁵And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim, (Genesis 14:5)). It is supposedly the place that afterward belonged to Reuben, under the name of Kirjathaim (Num. 32:37³⁷And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim, (Numbers 32:37); Josh. 13:19¹⁹And Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zareth-shahar in the mount of the valley, (Joshua 13:19)).

“Meshech” From Concise Bible Dictionary:

1. Son of Japheth, and his descendants (Gen. 10:2²The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. (Genesis 10:2); 1 Chron. 1:5⁵The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. (1 Chronicles 1:5); Ezek. 27:13¹³Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy merchants: they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass in thy market. Probably the progenitors of the Moschi and Muscovites.

2. Grandson of Shem (1 Chron. 1:17¹⁷The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech. (1 Chronicles 1:17)). Called MASH in Genesis 10:23²³And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash. (Genesis 10:23).
