1. Son of Heber, of the tribe of Asher (1 Chron. 7:32³²And Heber begat Japhlet, and Shomer, and Hotham, and Shua their sister. (1 Chronicles 7:32)). Called SHAMER in 1 Chronicles 7:34³⁴And the sons of Shamer; Ahi, and Rohgah, Jehubbah, and Aram. (1 Chronicles 7:34).

2. The parent of Jehozabad (2 Kings 12:21²¹For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead. (2 Kings 12:21)). Here the name is masculine, but perhaps the same is called SHIMRITH, a Moabitess, in 2 Chronicles 24:26²⁶And these are they that conspired against him; Zabad the son of Shimeath an Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith a Moabitess. (2 Chronicles 24:26).
