The Flood

POOR little chicks. They have not been long out of the shell, and here they are in trouble already. It was warm and snug at home in the nest, and Mother Hen never let them feel hunger or cold under her care.
However, Mother Hen did not know about spring floods, and the three little chicks never thought of such a thing. It was quite by mistake that they found themselves sailing across the flooded fields all alone in a wooden shoe. Of course they were rescued, and grew to be plump young hens in another barnyard later. It is just as well not to think of the other chicks that did not find a handy wooden shoe.
But where is the foot that belongs in this wooden shoe? Well, I am glad to say that this flood did not come without warning enough. Although almost everything in the house was ruined, the owner of the wooden shoe found safety in a rowboat, and now he clatters in and out in another pair of wooden shoes, and still tells the story of how they escaped from the flood.
It's a good thing, isn't it, that God has given to us more understanding than chickens have! It saves our lives many a time, as anyone from those flooded homes would tell 'you. When we see trouble coming, how often we can find a way to avoid it. That is why we want to tell you that trouble is coming upon this world in which we live. God has said that He will judge the world, and what will become of you then? The little chicks at home died without understanding.
They couldn't help it, but you can. Why should you wait till God's judgment overtakes you, for there will be no way of escape then.
Listen, my little reader, and be prepared before God's judgment comes upon you. He gave His only Son the Lord Jesus in order to save you, and soon the Lord Jesus is coming to take all His redeemed ones home to Himself before His judgment time comes. No one but Jesus can ever save you. Come to Him now and be saved forever.
"A PRUDENT M A N FORESEETH THE EVIL, AND HIDETH HIMSELF: BUT THE SIMPLE PASS ON, AND ARE PUNISHED." PROVERBS 22:33A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. (Proverbs 22:3).
