Read the whole of Psalm 23. (It’s only six verses.) David would not lack anything since the Lord was his shepherd (v. 1); he would not lack rest or refreshment (v. 2); he would not lack restoration or righteousness (v. 3); confidence, companionship or comfort (v. 4). There would be food, fellowship and joy in abundance (v. 5). There would be the necessities of life followed by eternal life (v. 6).
