For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
Wisdom is the proper application of knowledge and understanding from God’s Word to our lives. Have you ever seen a beautiful gold or silver nugget or coin? Fascinating! But if you’ve ever seen a well-cut ruby, you have seen something far better than silver or gold and more rare and precious than a diamond. The enchanting hue and sparkle of a ruby is something many great people have sought after. But the dependent believer in Christ has something better even than a ruby - in fact better than many rubies. He has the Lord Jesus interceding, and the Holy Spirit indwelling, and the Word of God instructing Him. Ask God for wisdom and use it when you have it.
