Dear Young Christian:

Monday morning again? Yes, they tell us time flies, but really it is us who fly. But some day those who know Christ as Savior are going to take one final flight.

David, with all the troubles he experienced said, “Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest” (Psalm 55:6). For the believer in Christ we can look up and say, “Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).

In the rush and haste of today, and this week, don’t forget that it is all going to end one of these moments, and we are going to “be caught up togetherin the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17). What a flight that will be!

Here’s how the hymn-writer, Alison Krauss, expressed it:

Some bright morning when this life is over

I’ll fly away

To that home on God’s celestial shore

I’ll fly away.

Your Christian Friend.
