Worship

“But as for me, I will come into Thy house in the multitude of Thy mercy: and in Thy fear will I worship” (Psalm 5:7).

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord” (Psalm 122:1).

You can praise and worship the Lord anywhere, anytime. You can enjoy the Lord’s presence individually anywhere, anytime. But it is especially wonderful to Him when His people meet together collectively to worship, acknowledging His headship over His Church. We read of the early believers, “Upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread” (Acts 20:7).

Again, as in many verses, we have reverence connected with worship. You can’t worship the Lord acceptably if you are flippant, or thinking about other things, or talking to the person next to you. No, the Lord has to have first place. We must honor Him for who He is. “God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about Him” (Psalm 89:7). Remember that as you meet in the presence of the Lord today.
