“And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: the same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again, Andrew and Philip tell Jesus” (John 12:20-22).
Here we find Philip again, but this time he is connected with Andrew, who was another disciple of the Lord Jesus. It seems that both Philip and Andrew were people who were easy to approach, and easy to talk to. When some Greeks wanted to see the Lord Jesus, they came first of all to Philip, and then Philip told Andrew. Together they go and tell the Lord Jesus.
We do not hear much about Andrew and Philip otherwise. They were apparently not prominent in preaching publicly, and they were not gifted leaders. We do not hear anything about them in the book of Acts, for the Philip mentioned in Acts was a different man. But they did well in personal work, and this is very valuable in the eyes of the Lord. All of us should work on being easy to approach, and being able to relate to people one-on-one.
