23. Life. Living

The words βίος, ζωή, ψυχή and πνεῦμα are all translated ‘life,' but there is a great deal of difference between them.
πνεῦμα (from πνέω, ‘to breathe') is ‘breath,’ ‘spirit,' and is only once translated ‘life' in the A. V., Rev. 13:1515And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. (Revelation 13:15), where it should be ‘breath.'
