If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, … or as a busybody in other men’s matters.1
Let not … your good be evil spoken of.2 – Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles.3
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? … Ye are the temple of the living God. … Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing.4
Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.5

As the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.1 – As the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.2
I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.3 – I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. … I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.4 – No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.5 – He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.6 – For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.7

Enoch … the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all.1 – Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.2
The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.3
The grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.4

The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.1
Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.2 – While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.3
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.4 – God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. … And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.5
Take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? … for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.6 – Trust … in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.7

Have faith in God.1 – Without faith it is impossible to please him.2 – With God all things are possible.3
Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver?4
My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.5 – Prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.6
Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.7 – Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power.8
We should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead.9

I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: … I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.1 – We have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities.2
They brought young children to him. … And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.3
I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant.4 – The Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.5 – Ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.6
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.7 – I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God.8

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.1 – The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.2 – If the Son … shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.3
Brethren, we are not children of the bond- woman, but of the free.4 – Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.5
Whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.6 – Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.7

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.1
Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven. … I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators. Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then ye must needs go out of the world. … I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.2 – That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.3
In a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honor, and some to dishonor.4

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.1 – It is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven.2
We have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.3
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; … that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.4

Thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.1
Reckon ye … yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin; but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.2 – As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: but as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.3 – Sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.4
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.5
