Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? – Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Dead in trespasses and sins; … by nature the children of wrath, even as others. – I am carnal, sold under sin. … That which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. … I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing.

By one man sin entered into the world, … by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners. – If through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. – O Lord God of hosts, who is a strong Lord like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee? Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon. – Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

I the Lord have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish.

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.
