They brought great stones, costly stones, and hewed stones, to lay the foundation of the house.1 – The house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.2
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house.3 – Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.4 – Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God.5
Ye are God’s building.6 – Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.7 – Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.8

For Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest.1
The priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.2
We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.3
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.4 – When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee.5
Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.6

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one.1
Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. … And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.2 – There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.3 – When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven.4
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way … let us draw near.5

We have the same spirit of faith.1
As chastened, and not killed; as sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.2
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. … For which cause we faint not, but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.3
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.4

The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.1 – The chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.2
Christ … loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.3 – To her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.4 – Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.5
Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.6 – Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven. . . Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.7

Return unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity. Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously.1
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God. … But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. … Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.2
Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.3 – It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.4 – Shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?5
Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. … My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.6

Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.1 – He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, … they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.2
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am.3 – Then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.4 – If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee.5
The dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.6

Thus saith the Lord, Because the Syrians have said, the Lord is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the Lord. And they pitched one over against the other seven days. And so it was, that in the seventh day the battle was joined: and the children of Israel slew of the Syrians an hundred thousand footmen in one day.1 – Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.2
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.3
They shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.4

We glory in tribulations: … knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.1 – No chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.2 – My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. … Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.3 – Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. … For when I am weak, then am I strong.4

When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth.1 – Ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.2
To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.3 – All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.4 – The holy scriptures … are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.5
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.6 – The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.7 – If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God.8 – The wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.9
