He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.1
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.2 – Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.3
Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, … even as the garden of the Lord. … Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan. … But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly.4 – [God] delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked. … The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations.5 – Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.6

Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.1 – O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.2 – Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.3 – You, … hath he quickened, … having forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.4 – Even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.5

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.1 – Bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.2 – The ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.3
My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.4 – Be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.5
He humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, … that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.6 – Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.7

Understanding what the will of the Lord is.1
It is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.2
This is the will of God, even your sanctification.3 – That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.4 – Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth: … wherefore lay apart all filthiness.5
Be ye holy; for I am holy.6 – [Jesus] said, … Whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.7 – Whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.8 – The world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.9

In the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.1 – A stone … cut out without hands.2 – Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.3 – The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.4
Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God. … So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; and should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. . . But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.5
Be ye … ready: for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh.6
The Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come.7

Thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.1
Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?2 – Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty.3
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.4 – I saw … the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims. … And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. … Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone.5 – I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself.6
The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.7 – That we might be partakers of his holiness.8 – Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, … let us draw near with a true heart.9

Jesus … lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father.1 – My Father, and your Father.2
Ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.3 – Ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.4
Because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son.5
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.6
I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.7

Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.1 – The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.2 – Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.3
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. … I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.4 – Brethren, whatsoever things are true, what-soever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.5 – As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.6
We are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ7 – Nor handling the word of God deceitfully.8

That Rock was Christ.1 – Simon Peter … said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said … Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.2 – Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.3
Let us draw near … in full assurance of faith. … faith without wavering.4 – Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. … He that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.5
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? … Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.6

Thou blessest, O Lord, and it shall be blessed forever.1 – The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.2
Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.3 – When thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: and thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.4 – Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.5
Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.6
The Lord God is a sun and shield.7
