When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.1
The Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not.2
A just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.3 – Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.4
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.5 – He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.6
If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.7 – Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.8

Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.1 – If the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.2 – Now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.3 – If we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.4 – The Lord Jesus Christ … shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.5
The firstborn from the dead.6 – If the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.7
I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.8

I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil.1 – My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.2
How precious … are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.3 – O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.4 – Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward.5
Not many mighty, not many noble, are called.6 – Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom?7 – Having nothing, and yet possessing all things.8 – The unsearchable riches of Christ.9

It is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.1
Learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: so likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. … Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.2
I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning.3
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.4
Watch, … for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.5

How excellent is thy loving-kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life.1
Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty.2 – Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.3 – This spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive.4
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters.5 – The Spirit and the bride say, Come. … And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.6

Thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.1
When I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; … yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord God, and thou becamest mine.2 – Whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth.3
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.4 – Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.5

I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.1
My brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. … Take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.2 – Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.3

The wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest. … There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.1
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.2 – Rest in the Lord.3 – He that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works.4
Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace.5 – That we … be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.6
I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.7

By honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report.1 – All that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.2 – The offence of the cross.3
If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.4
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; … But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.5
Unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake.6 – If one died for all, then were all dead: and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.7 – If we suffer, we shall also reign with him.8

The Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.1 – Unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.2
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.3 – Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?4 – Leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps.5
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine.6 – Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it.7 – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.8
