The Lord is exalted; for he dwelleth on high.1 – The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. … He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; that he may set him with princes.2
God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.3
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? … For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.4

Eve … bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.1
Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven. … The Lord scattered them.2 – Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan.3 – It was well watered every where, … even as the garden of the Lord. … But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly.4
I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit. For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.5 – I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards: … I gathered me also silver and gold. … Then I looked on all, … and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit.6
If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.7 – He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.8 – Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.9

Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.1 – Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.2 – What will ye that I shall do unto you? They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.3
If ye … being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?4 – I will put my spirit within you. … Thus saith the Lord God; I will yet for this be enquired of.5
This is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.6

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.1 – He hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.2
Unto you … which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner.3 – Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; but unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.4
I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.5 – Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee.6

She did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold. … Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and I will recover my wool and my flax.1
All things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee. For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding. O Lord our God, all this store … cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own.2 – Of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory forever. Amen.3
The living God … giveth us richly all things to enjoy.4 – Every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.5
My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.6

O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.1 – Not as I will, but as thou wilt.2 – Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.3
We know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.4
Ye know not what ye ask.5 – He gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.6 – These things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.7
I would have you without carefulness.8 – Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.9

He brought me up … out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.1 – You hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world. … We all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh.2
Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed.3 – Out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.4 – We went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.5
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee.6

Whosoever … shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.1 – He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.2
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.3
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: … be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.4
Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.5 – Praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.6

Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?1 – He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.2 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.3 – Being made a curse for us.4
O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.5 – Having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.6 – He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.7
O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.8 – We are more than conquerors through him that loved us.9 – They overcame … by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.10

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.1 – The Lord is gracious and full of compassion. … He will ever be mindful of his covenant.2
He that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.3 – As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings: so the Lord alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.4
His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.5
Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.6 – The same yesterday, and today, and forever.7
The very hairs of your head are all numbered. … Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. … Fear ye not therefore.8
