I was brought low, and he helped me.1 – Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.2
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.3 – Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God.4 – He led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.5 – There failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.6
When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye anything? And they said, Nothing.7 – Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.8

When ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.1
They … called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us.2
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. … And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other.3
Lord, teach us to pray.4

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins.1 – I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.2 – Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.3 – I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.4 – Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.5
Thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.6 – Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity? … he retaineth not his anger forever, because he delighteth in mercy.7 – Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, … to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.8

Take heed therefore how ye hear.1 – Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.2 – Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.3
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. … How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.4
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.5 – I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.6
Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.7 – But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.8

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.1
Let him take hold of my strength, that he may make peace with me; and he shall make peace with me.2 – Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace.3
Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.4 – A man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ.5 – By the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight.6
By him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.7
Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.8

The Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.1
He … kneeled down, and prayed, … And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.2
It was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: … they took Jesus, and led him away; … into a place called … Golgotha: where they crucified him.3
Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the feast.4

In him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.1 – I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.2 – I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me.3
Great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh.4 – Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.5
The brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.6 – Unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever.7
Let all the angels of God worship him.8
King of kings, and Lord of lords.9

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.1 – To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne.2
Thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.3
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.4
Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.5 – How excellent is thy loving-kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.6

There remaineth … a rest to the people of God.1 – My people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.2 – There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.3 – They … rest from their labors.4
The forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.5
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.6 – In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength.7
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.8

He died for all.1 – Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.2
He ever liveth to make intercession for them.3 – I go to prepare a place for you.4
I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.5 – Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am.6 – Having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.7
We love him, because he first loved us.8 – The love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.9
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.10
