In the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early.1
I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. … For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.2 – The flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.3
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.4 – Our sufficiency is of God.5 – My grace is sufficient for thee.6

Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. … And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it. … So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone.1
There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. … Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy.2 – Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.3
I … glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.4

And I said, O that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest. … I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest.1
In this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven. … For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.2 – Having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better.3
Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.4
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.5

Thou shalt … make a laver of brass, … and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein. For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat: when they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; … they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not.1 – Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you.2 – If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.3
In my flesh shall I see God: whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another.4 – There shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth.5 – Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity.6 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.7

If the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?1 – The blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.2
We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.3
When Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people. … Moreover he sprinkled with the blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.4

The new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, … so shall your seed and your name remain.1
We, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.2
I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.3

If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.1
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.2 – Sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing.3
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.4 – They departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.5
The God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing.6
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.7

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? … Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.1
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son. … Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead.2 – Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? … Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.3
Whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.4
By their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven.5 – If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.6

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? … Thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.1 – For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.2
We know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. … Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. … We are … willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.3
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.4

She took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.1 – Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man perished not alone in his iniquity.2
Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil.3
Wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.4
None of us liveth to himself.5 – Brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.6 – Take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. … When ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.7
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.8
