O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. … Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.1
The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.2 – The ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings.3 – God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.4 – The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.5
Jesus … knew all men, and needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.6 – Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee.7

When they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.1 – Take … no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.2
The God of Israel is he that giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God.3 – He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.4
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.5 – I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.6 – O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.7

God, … hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, … who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.1 – He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.2
Pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, … but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.3 – The love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: and that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.4

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.1 – As ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.2
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.3
They departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.4 – Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.5

He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.1 – Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us.2 – Who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.3 – Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior.4
I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, and be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.5

The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.1 – He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.2
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.3 – Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.4
Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.5

I am the Lord: … they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.1 – Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.2 – Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.3 – My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.4 – I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed.5
God, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus.6

O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.1 – The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup.2
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.3 – Thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.4 – Our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.5 – The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth forever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.6

He is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.1
We glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.2 – If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. … Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees.3

The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.1 – Thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.2
They shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.3 – JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.4
All men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father.5 – God … hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name.6 – Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and hath put all things under his feet.7 – He had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself … KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.8
Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out.9 – What is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?10
