Whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.1 – Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth.2 – Ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.3
Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labor: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better.4
I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.5

All things are yours; … and ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.1 – Our Savior Jesus Christ … gave himself for us.2 – God … gave him to be the head over all things to the church.3 – Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; … that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.4
My soul shall make her boast in the Lord.5 – I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness.6
Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.7 – O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord. … The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.8

The Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.1 – Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.2
His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.3
God, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.4
The faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.5 – All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.6 – Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God: … which keepeth truth forever.7

Ye know how we exhorted … and charged every one of you, … that ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.1 – Ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.2
Ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.3 – Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.4
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.5 – Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.6

Who in heaven can be compared unto the Lord? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the Lord? … O Lord God of hosts, who is a strong Lord like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?1 – Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.2 – For thy word’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them. Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.3
Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit.4 – The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children.5

Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for the lack of five? And he said, if I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it.1
Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.2 – Pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.3
I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. … Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.4 – Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.5
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.6

Ye … as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house.1 – Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.2 – Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.3 – What agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.4 – Ye … are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.5

Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.1
By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.2 – Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.3
Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.4 – Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.5 – Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.6
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.7

Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.1 – Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.2 – The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.3 – My soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.4
I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.5 – We … joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.6 – I will joy in the God of my salvation.7

If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.1 – An inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.2 – Here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.3
This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.4 – Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.5 – Yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.6
We which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.7
